چکیده

The importance of time of inoculation and bacterial concentration in the inoculum on the response of wheat plants was evaluated, using eight strains of rhizosphere bacteria. The optima1 bacterial concentration, for all strains, was 105-IO6 colony forming units ml-‘. Plant response was highest when seeds had been inoculated but was less when seedlings were inoculated. Successive inoculations somewhat increased plant response. Early inoculations resulted in an increased colonization of plant roots at later stages of growth. It was concluded that time of inoculation and the concentration of bacteria in the inoculum were of significant importance in plant response to inoculation and they may govern the inconsistency found in inoculation experiments using beneficial bacteria.

The effect of plant growth promoting potentials of rhizosphere bacteria isolated from several halophytic species on vegetative growth and ionic content of wheat

Salinity stress is an important challenge for wheat production in the world. Plant growth promoting rhizosphere bacteria, isolated from halophytic plants, can increase the tolerance of crop plants to salinity by direct and indirect mechanisms. In this study, plant growth-promoting traits of bacterial strains (Bacillus safensis, Bacillus pumilus and Zhihengliuella halotolerans), isolated from th...

Effect of Co-Application of Auxin-Producing Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria and Tryptophan on Wheat Growth under Water Stress Conditions

Auxin produced by plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPR) in the wheat rhizosphere, can improve plant yield under water deficit stress condition. To investigate this issue, a completely randomized factorial design with three replications was conducted under greenhouse condition at the University of Maragheh, Eastern-Azarbayjan, Iran during 2019. Treatments were two types of growth-promoting bact...

Molecular identification of Azotobacter isolated from the rhizosphere of Karunvariety of barley in desert and its comparison with standard Azotobacter andinvestigation of some of the vegetation indicators after inoculation

This study was conducted in acompletely randomized block design with three replications using three concentrations of 107, 105, and 103cfu/ml of Azotobacter isolated from the rhizosphere of Karun varieties of barley (Az. salentris) and standard Az.chrococom along with control (zero concentration of bacteria). The aim of this study was to study the reactions of barley plantin response to inocula...

بررسی اکولوژیکی ازتوباکتر در دو منطقه مرتعی آذربایجان و اثر تلقیح آن روی رشد و تغذیه معدنی گیاه گندم

A great number of studies have been conducted on the role of Azotobacter - a free living N2-fixer - in agricultural soils, but our information is lacking on the importance of Azotobacter in pasture soils. This research was conducted to study the relationship between ecological and edaphical factors with the population of the bacteria in soil. Soil samples were taken from two sites in Azarbaidja...
